New food van means even more meals.

New food van means even more meals

We’re excited to report the delivery of a brand new food van. It will enable us to serve even more meals to our guests and stretch your donations further. The new van will build on the legacy of the old which served over 390,000 meals to the needy. It utilises airline-style, temperature controlled food trolleys which can be loaded in our Exodus Foundation kitchen then wheeled to the van and hydraulically stowed in place. The new food van was generously funded by Gary...

Give warm clothes & blankets for the homeless

Staying warm when you live on the streets is a challenge, especially when it rains and things get wet. That’s why we give warm clothes and blankets to the homeless and disadvantaged. During winter demand for warm clothes and blankets is understandably high, so we urgently need donations. We need track pants in large or extra-large size and single or double-sized blankets, but please remember: We can only accept new items – not used or second hand. Please call (02) 8752 4600...

Rev. Bill Crews Winter appeal.

Rev. Bill Crews Winter appeal

It’s late at night as I write this from my desk at The Exodus Foundation and it’s getting cold. I’m sure you’ve felt it and that means the homeless have too. But as winter looms I wanted to share some good news with you. It’s a story about how you make the lives of so many poverty-stricken Aussies better, every day. I’ve just returned from our mobile food van in the city where we give hot dinners to the homeless. Every...

Calling Easter Volunteers

Calling Easter Volunteers

The Exodus Foundation never closes its doors to the poor and needy, even at Easter. Especially at this time of year we need your help to meet the desperate need of our guests. The breakfast volunteer shift runs from 08:00am – 10:00am and the lunch time volunteer shift runs from 10:00am – 02:00pm. Click here...

Donating food for our guests

Donating food for our guests

We take the health of our guests seriously, serving healthy meals using good quality food products. We get fresh produce from a range of partners, but we also rely on people like you to donate tinned food to fill our emergency food parcels. To make it easy to understand what to give we use a traffic light system. Gifts marked with a green traffic light will be accepted, while those marked with a red traffic light cannot be used. Green light...

With your help we’re making this Easter even more special

With your help we’re making this Easter even more special

Easter is always a special time at The Exodus Foundation. It’s a time of hope. Today there are more homeless Australians and they feel more isolated. Doing something special for them at Easter is a great way of making them feel like they really do matter. On Maundy Thursday Rev. Bill Crews will wash the feet of our homeless guests, just as Jesus washed the feet of his disciples. “It’s humbling work, but for me it’s holy work too”, he said. And thanks to...

Wests Tigers players personal trainers to the homeless

Wests Tigers players personal trainers to the homeless

In March Rev. Bill Crews and Shaun Spence, former player and Wests Tigers Community & Fan Engagement Manager, officially launched an innovative new program to improve the health of our homeless guests. The Wests Tigers players will be like personal trainers to the homeless. They will encourage our guests to be active – helping them through exercise activities and talking to them about good nutrition and mental health. The program is part of our commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of...
