We all have a duty to follow strict new health guidelines. Indeed, at The Exodus Foundation we have an extra special duty of care to our vulnerable guests. Here’s how we are responding to the COVID-19 crisis.

  • We have installed two open air tents in the middle and front of our site in Ashfield to accommodate our guests. While open to the air these tents provide some shelter from the elements.
  • All food services are now takeaway only.  We are now distributing pre-packaged hot meals. This ensures our volunteers and staff have a safer and less direct interface with our guests.
  • We are adhering to social distancing norms; washing hands at the beginning and end of each shift, always wearing gloves and changing gloves as frequently as required.
  • We are preparing extra food parcels. In anticipation of extra demand we are assembling significant quantities of purchased and donated canned and other non-perishable foods, as well as toilet paper, so that we can offer food parcels to our guests. Our food parcels will be distributed from our site in Ashfield and our food vans.
  • We’re monitoring the health of our guests. Our Social Health & Wellbeing team is on site everyday checking guest temperatures, ensuring personal hygiene and also attending to ongoing healthcare.

The health of our vulnerable guests, volunteers and staff is paramount and we will do all we can to keep them safe and well.
